This will be completed before we transition the 13.0 alpha series to stable. We have started our annual esr transition audit, where we review Mozilla's year's worth of work with an eye for privacy and security issues that would negatively affect Tor Browser users. If you find any issues, please report them on our gitlab or on the Tor Project forum. This builds on a year's worth of upstream Firefox changes, so alpha-testers should expect to run into issues. This is our first alpha release in the 13.0 series and represents a transition from Firefox 102-esr to Firefox 115-esr. This is a Desktop platform only release (Windows, macOS, and Linux), but Android should be available in the coming weeks. This release updates Firefox to 115.0.2esr, including bug fixes, stability improvements and important security updates. With hardly any user intervention required, NoScript offers a superb level of protection against site borne security threats and ensures that you have full control over what is allowed to run in your browser window.Tor Browser 13.0a1 is now available from the Tor Browser download page and also from our distribution directory. The settings you choose to use can be quickly backed up by saving them as a bookmark so they can be restored when you have to reinstall, or transferred to another computer. You can choose to be notified when a script is blocked, so should a site fail to function as expected you can opt to enable individual page elements as required. When you encounter such as site, you can easily add it to a whitelist so that scripts will be allowed to run now and in the future - ideal for banking and shopping sites. The addon automatically blocks all such content, but there may well be occasions when you need it to run. NoScript is a Firefox addon that can be used to prevent the running of scripts on the sites you visit. In addition to reducing the performance of sites, there is also the potential for scripts to be used for malicious purposes. Web plugins such as Flash, Java and JavaScript can be used to add a range of interesting features to web sites, but there are also a number of downsides.
